Champaner - Pavagadh

Attributes: Hill Station, Around the City

Exploring something new at a common place is not an easy task but as usual we have got a beautiful place to share with you. We have understood one thing that this is the best time to travel because its monsoon so wherever you go you will see lush green fields & mountains, lakes and rivers full of water. It’s a blessing to visit this hill station which is just 2 hours away from Ahmedabad.

This hill station is more famous for its religious side where our parents or grand parents usually go to worship. But when it comes to our generation, it’s possible that you might have not even heard about this place. Keeping this in mind, we decided to visit this place to find something interesting for you all to travel. So the new place that we have explored is Champaner-Pavagadh and another nearby place. Pavagadh doesn’t have just temple, it’s a beautiful hill station too.

Champaner – Pavagadh, a hill station to travel during monsoon time. Take your bike or car to explore this place and you’ll be stunned with the beauty of this is place. We consider Gujarat a very small state and think that it has just one or two places to travel but the fact is totally contrary. Our journey started first with Pavagadh temple via the rope-way. And as soon as we reached the top of the mountain, the things started disappearing because of the fog everywhere. Just think, you are going up in the Rope-Way and suddenly you can’t see anything because of the Smog. This beautiful feeling should be experienced to understand how incredible we felt. Early morning visits are preferred to see the real beauty and foggy weather.

Generally you see a lake or a river once you get off the mountain but here it was different. We saw a huge lake on top of the mountain, sounds incredible right? It was a heavenly feeling when we saw this beautiful lake, green mountains and fog everywhere. Not just that, after good amount of rainfalls, even waterfalls start finding their ways through immense mountain range of Pavagadh. So if you visit this place in monsoon, you will definitely find waterfalls there. Pavagadh even has an archeological park, where you can see temples which are beautifully carved-in and built on the mountain. So people who love to see a heritage site then you should definitely visit Pavagadh. The area of Champaner-Pavagadh was in scripted by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2004.

We then visited to a place called saat Kaman (7 Arcs). This place is fascinating. You will be in a shock after seeing this place because not many people know that a place such as this exists even though it comes just before you reach the Rope-way location. The place is on cliff of the mountain and has 7 arcs which is why it’s called Saat Kaman (in gujrati language). Sometimes, it’s difficult to say that which architect were the best. Because the designs and creations by the old kings and Mughals look magnificent and make you think, “How did they build this on a mountain when such facilities today does not exist?”

So before we keep talking about a serene place with splendid scenery we would wish that you visit this place or any place in Gujarat for that matter and share your experience with us.
