How often have we seen movie makers try, try and unnecessarily try really hard to ensure that a movie lives upto it's prequel? Well, let's not penning it down for, the list is bound to really long.
Luckily for us, the Despicable Me series has always lived upto it's expectations, despite being a 'Threequel'. The best bit is that, though it is an animated movie, it sure is really good fun for both kids and adults, alike; confirming it's reputation as one of the best current animation film series.

While there may be quite a few certainties in life; namely - The sky being love. Sachin Tendulkar being revered as a God. And the Minions being the crux of the Despicable Me series.
The third installment breaks the last norm for, very evidently the screen presence of the minions takes a step back (which might put off some people); and despite that, the introduction of new characters in Gru's wacky family, breathe in a fresh life. Top it off some very colourful visuals and slapstick humour, you have a hit right there.

Over and above, the plot of the movie is quite simple and maybe that is where lies the brilliance for, the story revolves around Gru and his wife Lucy, who must stop a former '80s child star Balthazar Bratt from achieving world domination.
In the midst of it, Gru is also reunited with his long lost twin brother Bru, who unlike him is rich, 'quite handsome', cheerful but, sadly isn't the villain that he thinks he is. But, with the help of Dru's resources, Gru plans to take down Balthazar.

What also helps the movie along the way, is stellar use of soundtracks. Imagine a villain performing his criminal schemes to soundtracks from the 80s; ranging from Michael Jackson to Van Halen. Quite a good bit of fun!
The end result? A movie that is enjoyable for people of literally all ages for which I give 3 Shors on 5 for Despicable Me 3. Cheers.
