Do you really need to go through the review to ensure whether you will opt for FAST & FURIOUS 7 or no? Personally, being a fan of the franchise myself, even if the world had rated the movie to be a flop, I would have still paid my way to the nearest cinema the first day itself. Anywho the following article is just my perception of the movie so, bear with me!
Just to give you recap where the previous part ended (despite the fact, you would have just undergone a marathon of the same); Toretto & Co. defeat Owen Shaw. Owen Shaw's Big Bad brother kills Han. Aaai karambaaa! Now?
What follows is what you would expect with a badass star cast & the history of Fast & Furious; Fast Cars - Furious Action - Hot Girls - Death defying Stunts - Nasty Explosions - Useless Mia & of course, Dominic Toretto's Charger.
Having being rocked by the ultimate badass, Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham); Dominic (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) gather their ol' crew of highly accomplished drivers & talkers against the villains wherein hoards of car chases take place. Ignoring all the laws of gravity & logic they come flying off planes, jump from a building to the other 80 stories above the ground, crash cars into each other because they are so pissed off, throw away guns to partake in a fist-fight, tear apart a plaster simply by flexing, the list is endless but, in all that is what the patrons appreciate with whistles & woots. Toretto states his undying love for 'mi familia' and living life 'a quarter mile at a time'.
But, it isn't like that the film is going to bag an Academy Award. The series is meant to be fun, which it rightfully offers to it's adrenaline loving fans. Ridiculous or no, there is no denying that is a delight to witness extravaganza.
One of the most intriguing parts of the movie was that a 'real-life' happy ending was never possible. We all know that Paul Walker will never be featured in the series again (i.e. if they continue) and you could have never asked for a better send off to Walker than what the makers have given. It helps you connect with the characters and your heart will definitely weep a goodbye to him.
In all, FAST & FURIOUS 7 makes for a classic popcorn flick, for which I give it 3 Shors on 5.
A heads up, carry a box of tissues if you think that you might tend to teary eyed towards the end. Cheers.
