In this age of LMAO, BTW, BFF and other acronyms, the essence of a language and its rich history seems somewhere lost. We all are equal participants in this act and for reasons known to us the foreseeable future will be devoid of many languages of the civilised world.

Language in itself is a reflection of the society’s belief and culture. A language not only helps the society communicate but it helps us express us in ways, otherwise not possible. Gujarati, is one such language. With over 65.5 million speakers of Gujarati language in the world, the language is one of the most spoken and culturally rich dialects of the modern world.

CityShor, presents to you with once in a lifetime experience that will elevate you and leave you a richer Gujarati, literature-lly. Move beyond the fashion shows and food festivals, this one time indulge into a festival of rich literature, art, music, drama, film and folk art.

For the first time ever, Ahmedabad will witness a festival unlike any other. Gujarati Literature Festival 2014, organised from 3rd January 2014 till 5th January 2014, will take you into the world of rich heritage of Gujarati Language.

Over 100 accomplished and aspiring writers, poets and other creative people are expected to participate in the three days of festivities. In addition to the literary sessions the side lines promise book stalls, folk art performances and of course delicious food!

Each session will have a stage where invited artistes will deliver and address as well as discuss, debate and interact with audiences on a pre-decided subject area.
