There is absolutely no point in getting into the very essence of the movie for, it simply adds onto the tally of average Horror Movies. It tends to be predictable from the very beginning but, what makes it worth a while is though the plot might seem cliched with its fair bit of scares; The reprisal role of Lin Shaye takes the movie somewhat home with her backstory and how she confronts her own fears.

The movie takes us back in time before the original film, where you have a new demon in a Hospital Gown and a Breathing masks (it seems even they tend to get sick). You have your regular noises from the distance, a peek a boo appearance here in there, from a non-believing father to one who would go the end of the world to rectify things, making for a big segment of unnecessary hulla.

Like i said, the only thing that somewhat holds the movie together is Lin Shaye for her depiction of the afterlife and transcending hope & fear simultaneously in the hearts of the patrons makes for an experience.

In conclusion, there is nothing more to say for you know half of it even before anything takes place in the nearly beaten to death series with a moment here and there for which I give it 2.5 SHORS on 5. To actually woo the audience and set a bar, everyone involved in this particular genre definitely need to up their game and learn some new tricks. Cheers.
