Lend an ear to unheard stories of A'bad @Memories on String!

Get to know Ahmedabad better by lending an ear to it’s unheard stories with Memories on String (https://www.facebook.com/events/698495367015181/?active_tab=about) Memories are always more important than the places, aren’t they? So, how about sharing your travel stories and memories of Ahmedabad with others? 'People called Ahmedabad' brings to you an event of Memories on String, on 22nd July at 6 pm. People Called Ahmedabad ( https://www.facebook.com/peopleplaceproject/) is the city’s collective narrative through stories of its people. 55 stories that assimilate the city, falling serendipitous into compartments to encompass its history. An endeavour that has sifted through the city to bring forth stories about the mujawar at Ahmed Shah’s tomb, the scion of the city’s oldest philanthropic family, a refugee community that now calls the city home, the significant kitli culture, entrepreneurs who have made the economy of the city tick, internet sensations who have revived the love for food among youth, a museum that talks about conflict, a bookseller at the city’s famous ravivari and many more. Memories on strings is one such event conducted by People Called Ahmedabad as a part of creating city consciousness. At this event, they are inviting their readers and attendees to bring in a memory (i.e. a photograph) and pin it up on the wall for a short exhibition. After a tete-a-tete with a few authors from or book 'People Called Ahmedabad', the exhibition is open for an exchange where everyone is free to take back home some other memory of their choice. These memories are those of the city, its people, their aspirations. Not only will the city exchange its memories, we hope it fosters a spirit of empathy amongst fellow city dwellers. A photograph is the best memory we carry, isn’t it? It keeps our memories safe! So, what are you waiting for peeps? Be a part of this event, share your stories of the city and have a chat with the authors of the book! P.S. It’s an open event. Don’t miss this if you love your city! Date : Saturday, 22nd July Time : 6:00 pm Venue: The Project Café
