Movie Review - Veerappan

Attributes: Movie Reviews

Director: Ram Gopal Varma
Cast: Sandeep Bharadwaj, Sachiin J Joshi, Usha Jadhav, and Lisa Ray.

Plot: Followed by Veerappan's run against the law for years, a special task force agent undertakes an operation to bring him down, using any means necessary.

After delivering cult classics like Satya, Company, and a few more; You would expect Ram Gopal Varma to have an ounce of his film making skills left but, sadly VEERAPPAN doesn't offer the same. The trailer says that it took 10 years to kill Osama, and 20 to kill Veerappan but, it only took 200 odd minutes of the movie to bore me to the very core!
The only saving grace was Sandeep Bharadwaj's resemblance to Veerappan, who does an amazing job.

Though the title says 'Killing Veerappan', the movie moves ahead at a F1 car's pace talking about his history; add onto that a shoddy first person camera angle and voila - start cringing!
Apart from Sandeep Bharadwaj, the ENTIRE cast and their acting skills are horribly sub-par; Trying their 'best' to breath some life, or maybe death into the unrealistic sequences. So much so, you might feel aghast and claim - "What the hell is that"!

Talking about the operation to kill Veerappan, the enactment of the same seems a bit too easy to be true. With a background score that seems to be in the 'foreground', because of it's immensely loud use, one doesn't even get to know nitty-gritties of it all because they seem to have muted the audio, and 'smartly' played the foreground score instead!
And to justify how horrendous it was, they actually came up with a score which was a 'remix' of 'La la, la la, loori' that ended with the words 'Rakshash kare tamaasha' putting an end to it! What the.........

Anyways, all said & done, VEERAPPAN is not worth your time, money or even your sanity! But, if you still feel brazen enough then, head down simply for Sandeep Bharadwaj's performance; which is the only reason why I give the movie 1 Shor on 5!
