Movie Review - War Dogs

Attributes: Movie Reviews

Director: Todd Phillips
Cast: Jonah Hill, Miles Teller, Ana de Armas, J. B. Blanc and Bradley Cooper.

Based on a true story of two twenty something 'entrepreneurs' looking for a quick way to make big money; as unnecessarily glorified WAR DOGS may be, it does shed some light on the dark deeds that go about under the name of 'war'.

Revolving around David Packouz (Miles Teller) and Efraim Diveroli (Jonah Hill), the movie talks about their plans of getting into the murky field of arm dealing; leading them to land the bumper 'Afghan contract' of providing weapons and ammunition for soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq.
What follows is a series of life-threatening instances, along-with glory, of course, and finally the plunge to nothingness.

The movie has a sugar coated facade of being humorous with Jonah Hill, yet again showcasing his immense prowess but, what is more intriguing is his dark side, that leaves you wanting more and more. Talking about Miles Teller; time and time again the time has proven his skills as a multi-faceted actor.
A surprise face comes forth in the form of Bradley Cooper, who of course is his usual smart, suave and smooth self, with tinges of darkness to it all.

The movie rightly boasts of a fair share of comical sequences but, there would be moments wherein reality hits you with a fact that - Secretly selling arms for your selfish benefit is not really funny; tending to be quite a serious drama.
All in all - WAR DOGS, is indeed a good movie for which I give it 3 Shors on 5 but, just a heads up, it does not cater to everyone's taste.
