With the remake of OK Kanmani, the “Aashiqui” pair is back with a bang! In that usual stereotypical manner, Shaad Ali shows us how boyfriends protect their girlfriends all the time - could there be a better cliche?
Talking about the story, it starts with Adi and Tara moving to Mumbai for a better career. They both fall head over heels for each other and start living together without any strings attached - which gives an otherwise convenient start to a scripted story. Naseeruddin Shah acts a landlord cum philosopher who wittily keeps adding some charm to yet another predictable flick churned out the factory of Bollywood.
A video game developer, Adi’s dream is to go to the US; and an architect, Tara wants to fly to Paris. But before that, both of them decide to stay together for six months and that's when their thoughts change. The movie, by and large, revolves around their travel to Ahmedabad, their roaming around in Mumbai and PDA. Just like almost every other love heaped flick, OK Jaanu ends up sermonizing the same and I ain't surprised at all!
Well, if nothing at all, at least the music composed by A R Rahman would keep you entertained and so would the songs like 'Enna Sona' (sung by Arijit Singh, ahem!) and unheard songs like ‘Sunn Bhavara’ and ‘Sajan Aayo’ are thoroughly pleasant as well.
If you are looking forward to seeing a lovey-dovey, feel-good movie this weekend then OK Jaanu might be your cup of tea, and if vice versa then you are not going to miss anything phenomenal, rest assured!
3 Shors out of 5 for OK Jaanu!
