My Stamp: Get your Official Personalized Stamp

First of all, a very Happy New Year to all of you! We know you all enjoyed it to the core. Family outings, fun get-togethers, social gatherings, gorging on delicious food, must have been full of fun. Well, the holidays are gone and we are back to work. What is this article all about? Well, nothing related to what I said earlier but yet something different. The hatke thing is, “Would you like to get highlighted amongst your relatives and friends?” or more appropriately put, “Would you like to surprise them with something 'retro' and different?”

One more question, “Do you remember sending a post card to your friends or relatives after getting your hands on the latest technology?” Nah, pressing “Send” does all the work for you. What if you get an opportunity to get back to the traditions and send letters to everyone again? It is time taking! But, put your mobile away for 10 minutes, and grab a pen and paper. Why are we emphasising on you doing so much mehnat?

Well, the exciting part comes now. It’s time that you get your personalized stamp and it’s official. Very few know about it. But, yes it is possible now. It was introduced at INDIPEX 2011, the 6th World Philatelic Exhibition at New Delhi in February. Just take your mobile to the post office, ask them to print the photo of yours that you like the most and get it printed. It can be of you or a bird or any photo for that matter. Well, the best part would be, giving a surprise to the relatives & friends staying away. Selfies are in demand nowadays but why not try something to make them feel nostalgic? A letter with your photo stamp? Doesn't it sound neat? A trivial thing but it would surely bring a smile on many faces. Try it out.

Visit these Post offices to get your “My Stamp,” just a few steps are to be followed like giving your pic and filling up the form and your official Stamps would be in your hand. Not just the post offices, My Stamp service is also available at Gandhi Ashram. Ask anyone and they’ll guide you. All I can say is, it is a great try to reconnect the beautiful old memories and letting the new generation know about the same!
