What Happens When Women Work Like Men? Watch it Live on 18th

Attributes: Others

This Friday has been marked for many who need to be empowered and believe in empowerment with a play on Day 1 of “Breaking the Paradigm” Gujarat Chapter by CII’s  Indian Women Network, a tribute to modern women! This is where like-minded men and women can come together, to witness the severing of barriers! Witness "The License" at HK hall, Ashram Road on 18th August from 8:30 PM onwards.
“Women” and “Empowerment”, two locutions when used together, become one eloquent message that has taken up our Society as the need of the hour. They say, the two genders are poles apart, but yet considering the fact that it is indeed a male dominated society, women have been told they are inferior in many parts cross borders, and some take up the humble task of making “HER” realize she is an asset.
The play “The License” by Padma Shri award recipient Dr. Neelam  Mansingh revolves around the roles carried out by two widows, who try to fit into the shoes of their husbands and in turn become the chief wage earners to stay off the roads. One a Tongawala and the other a Watchman, both challenging and risky jobs with respect to safety, are carried out with dignity in their own different ways to fight all odds. Will such newfangled women be accepted?
The two feminist stories reflect the process of becoming men just as men actually did over eras and how they meet all demands until the world around them crumbles and their feminism has succumbed! Will they achieve what they set out for?
Find out, and save your seats and remind yourselves and the women around you, that being a woman is power inside out and that’s something to always feel good about!
