Koramangala gets its newest Tibetan restaurant- Potala. Named after a palace in Tibet, Potala symbolizes Tibetan Buddism. The palace was the chief residence of Dalai Lama until the 14th one fled to India. Potala Koramangala, has a very homely feel to it and that's with most Tibetan places. What truly makes this place stand out is the food. From chinese to authentic Tibetan cuisine, everything we tried here was delectable.

We started our journey of Tibetan food with CHICKEN KUNCHAO: This mildy sweet boneless chicken tasted absolutely amazing alongside the crispy fried spinach. The spinach was absolutely incredible by itself which made the chicken even more delightful to eat.
CRIPSY POTATO CHILLI: Long strips of potato fried with a spicy masala and garnished with chilli pieces.
CHICKEN MOMOS:This needs no describing, but in short was well steamed and a great starter.
VEG MANCHOW SOUP: typical manchow, clear soup in tibetan style. Simple and can't go wrong by ordering this.
BUTTER PEPPER GARLIC NOODLES: extremely well cooked, butter garlic noodles with dominant flavour of pepper and garlic. Fried with red, yellow capscicums and onions. Deliciously spiced with a slight tinge of vinegar-green-chilli. We are going to go ahead and claim these to be one of the best garlic noodles we've ever had.
VEG THENTHUNK: Authentic Tibetan dish, with flat noodles. This soup like dish comes with carrots, beans, spinach and a gravy very mild in flavour but delicious. It is not just filling, but healthy too.
CHICKEN SHABHALEY: Crunchy fried outer layer with a stuffing of mildly flavoured onions and minced chicken. The stuffing was the same one used in the momo's.

Being located in a basement and nothing fancy looking from the oustide, but when you step in you get a very homely feeling with great authentic tibetan cuisine. Thats what Potala is all about. Do visit this place and let us know about your experience here.
