After featuring Brewklyn's Mango Ale in one of our previous few posts, this one is about a new German Lager, their Marzen.

The best thing about Bangalore probably, is that you know you're never too far from a pint of good beer. Since the boom of the microbrewery culture in the city, Bangaloreans have been spoilt with choices as to where to go get that fresh pint of craft beer. This used to be a problem for residents of Kalyan Nagar until about an year ago, but not so much any more!

If you follow The Beer Dossier, on Instagram, you saw our big feature about this Marzen on our stories. That clearly went down great with our Bangalore family, because Brewklyn received a ridiculous response to this beer and ran out of this batch faster than any other batch of beer they've ever made.

Naturally, as it happens with something being received so well, they've brought it back and if you didn't get a chance to try this earlier, you've been given a second chance.
Traditionally brewed in March and allowed to ferment slowly during the summer months, the Marzen is the beer of the world famous Oktoberfest of Bavaria.

Tasting Notes -

Appearance - Reddish-copper coloured, hazy lager with a thick, persistent tan head.

Aroma - Malt, more malt and then some more malt. Rich, grainy and bready malt aromas make up the full aromatic profile here. Light alcohol in the breath from the 6% ABV.

Flavour - Flavour profile is a game of tug of war, the malts play with your palate.

Slight sweetness up front quickly changes into a nutty, toasty, malt party with the slightest amount of bitterness on the palate, adding layers to the sip. The finish is light bitter that again switches back into a short sweet finish.

After taste is very neutral, which means you can switch up styles after your first or fourth beer without any trouble. If you haven't ever had a beer of this style, this is a good chance to improve your craft beer palate range.
Pair this with the Jalapeno Cheese Bites or the Pizza Italiano to get the full effect of this malty German lager.

If you get a chance to try this, leave a comment here. Cheers.
