Calories don’t count on the weekend! This weekend treat your taste buds to some really good dishes from different cuisines all available at one place! Tindi Beedi-The eat street located at VV Puram, Bengaluru, goes live in the dawn and continues to attract the die-hard foodies till midnight.

Just when you enter the food street, on your right is the giant “Vasavi Tindi Mane” from where you can pick up the very delicious avare bele kodubale (an authentic south Indian fried snack) and move on to having dosas of different variety or the mouth-watering vermicelli dishes. Stop to have some honey dip jalebis and then the very famous Kachhi Dabeli of Mumbai fame. Do you like the new potato twist? Oh well! You can choose your favourite flavour and turn to Mumbai Lassi shop which is known for its Badam milk for the dessert. Gulkand ice-cream is also a must try and as it is the season of our favourite fruit- the mango, pretty sure mango milkshake and mango lassi will complete your food trail experience. Apart from these is a bhajji shop at the end of the road which serves tasty capsicum bhajjis and the very old VB Bakery calls you out for a quick bun butter! Make sure you go with more number of friends so that you can hog on to most of the shops and try out as much as you can!

If you happen to visit this place during the first week of January, a special festival called “Avare mela” will freeze you with an aroma of wide variety of freshly prepared dishes all from avare bele (hyacinth beans). Grab anything to eat and its main ingredient is this beans. Even Jalebis and Gulab Jamoon are also made of hyacinth beans. Avare bele dose is one dish you wouldn’t want to miss during this festival.

  5. Chinese Corner: Noodles and Chinese items
  6. Mumbai Lassi Shop: Badam milk, Rabdi, Malai milk, Rose milk and pheni with cold milk.
