Ever thought what it would be like to sip on Sangrias in a carnival? Well, Mighty Small dared to do that and is India’s ONLY carnival themed cafe, newly opened at 1 MG Mall, MG road.

Beautifully designed carnival themed ambiance with red-white striped sofas and light shades, blue rimmed top lights, clown hatted bulbs, elephants and clowns splashed on the wall, Mighty Small gives you the experience of a carnival while enjoying absolutely delicious sangrias, china-boxes, imported beers and liquor for the alcohol connoisseurs and to delightfully end the day some mouth-watering desserts and bakes. We couldn’t hide our excitement on knowing that the café is located above Smaash and that instantly built more curiosity. We chose a sunset time to visit, the dramatic orange-gold lights hit the café making it more visually attractive and the view of Ulsoor lake staring right at us was magnificent.

Having ordered a zillion delicacies and drinks that we give a thumbs up tp, let us jump right into what we loved the most at Mighty Small.

3 Hummus Bread Bowl - creamy, overpowering flavours of Harissa, Garlic and Pesto hummus on soft, buttery mini-buns complemented with pita bread.

Crispy Bhindi - from the Bar snacks. Thin strips of lady’s finger fried light and crisp, topped with Indian spices and served with green chutney. We loved that there was something different to munch with our drinks than the usual potatoes or peanuts.

Cajun Fish & Chips - Light, low on oil, the fish(Basa) was cooked perfectly to melt in your mouth. Served with chips (French fries, although fries are chips and chips are fries, we say it the other way round in India), green chilli thetcha and tartar sauce.

Giant Carnivore Club - a club of chicken, pork and egg the sandwich was succulent and heavenly. Thin pork strips, with well cooked chicken and egg layered with cheese this giant was definitely too much to handle. Served with plain salted finger chips.

Spicy Chopper Rice - chopper rice cooked tossed with red and yellow pepper, cucumbers, onions cooked in chef’s special spicy sauce that tasted like a blend of mellow barbeque sauce and even lighter schezwan flavours. A perfect box of chopper rice, crispy noodles in authentic Chinese sauces and tender veggies.

Equally mouth-watering and delightfully spicy was the chicken chopper rice. Chicken pieces were tender, richly flavoured and the pickles gave a break to the spicy rice.

Served generous quantity.

Jungle Curry and Steamed Rice - brilliant flavouring of curry and citrus in the gravy, served with steamed rice was the perfect balance and combination. Enjoyed the originality of the flavours.

We loved most of their Sangrias, but these are our best recommended ones:

Jalapeno and Olive Sangria (white) - am incredibly delicious white Sangria, the best we’ve had in the city. Green olives exploded in the mouth leaving a delicious aftertaste and the sangria was strong yet smooth to taste at.

Orange Mint and Elderflower Sangria (red) - an exciting diversion from classic sangrias made of apple, pomegranate and such. Extravagantly fruity, tasted immensely like a mix of pomegranate and berries, with slight extracts of orange. The coarse aftertaste of red wine was delectable.

Cityshor definitely recommends both these sangrias and the mightiest ones if y’all may.

They also serve imported beers like Hoegaarden, Stella, Asahi which is rarely found in any cafes the city. They also have few of the best Vodkas like Belvedere, Stolichnaya and so. Our verdict – indulge yourself in delicious cuisines and opulent flavours of Sangrias. You’ll find the Cityshor team dropping in quite often here.
