Have you tried the IDLI BURGER in Frazer Town?

In all my time in Bangalore, I have come across quite an array of idlis. From your conventional steamed ones to Thatte Idli, Rava Idli to even Chilli Idlia but, never had a ever imagined coming across an IDLI BURGER; and serving the very same is the ever-so-quaint CAFE IDLY in Frazer Town.
With a seating for 7-8 people, the cafe is a hidden gem with it's spick-span chairs and tables. Add onto to a neat little case acclaiming the classic rock legends; makes for quite an experience.

Thankfully, they bring forth a welcome change to your conventional idli in the form of PADDU on their menu. Also known as Kuzhi Paniyaram, it is essentially a deliciously soft and spicy 'pancake' steamed in a pan; leading to a soft inside and a crunchy outside. Of course had best with the ditto chutneys.
Equally at par is their take on mildly spiced KANCHIPURAM IDLI with cumin seeds, curry leaves and ginger.

Talking about going unconventional, CAFE IDLY defines the word in an extremely apt way, in the form of their very own IDLI BURGER! Mind you, it isn't an idli sandwiched between a bun; rather, it is a golden brown patty between two steaming hot idlis, laden with chutney. As bizarre it may seem to be, take our word for it when we say that it tastes the contrary for, it truly is flavourful.
What makes it truly worth a try is simply not because of the freshness of it all but, the burst of textures is what makes it stand apart. Soft idlis, a crunchy patty, and a rich chutney oozing out after bite. Oh la la!

If you are looking to try something beyond the idlis then, their take on a VEGETABLE CUTLET should be your order; with a mix of mashed potatoes, vegetables and spices coming together to form a great appetizer.
Their MASALA DOSA also makes for quite a sufficient meal in it's own.

And did we tell you that a meal for two won't cost you more than Rs 150?
Cheers.
