Movie Review - Force 2

Attributes: Movie Reviews

Directior: Abhinay Deo
Cast: John Abraham, Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin

Inspector Yash (John Abraham) is a determined cop who had lost his wife in the previous version of Force and in Force 2, he loses his best friend (Harish) due to RAW's negligence. He gets a clue from Harish about the person behind his and murder of various other RAW agents. Determined to seek revenge on behalf of his best friend and his country, Yash partners up with a RAW agent KK (Sonakshi Sinha) for hunting the criminal behind these machinations.

While the "muscle" of the movie is in place for some scenes because of John Abraham, what it lacks is the sheer intelligence of tracking the motive of the criminal and then creating a strategy to hunt him. Rather it happens the other way round in Force 2. Yash and KK suspect Shiv Sharma (Tahir Raj Bhasin) and then the hide and seek for chasing him ensues just to introduce action sequences without a rhyme or a reason. However, the cinematography of various locations in Berlin, Budapest most certainly keep you engaged!

Tahir's role is almost similar to that he had played in Mardaani, yet, he manages to stand equal to Abraham. Director Abhinav Deo did try to promote feminism through Sonakshi but then it reveals all the ironies through her non-meaty role, banal performance, and her dependence on male officers. John Abraham is aggressive but at some point, even his dead pan humor and intensity fail to charm.

Nothing to miss if you do not watch this movie, so, it is okay to strike off Force 2 from your weekend To-Do list!

2.5 Shors out of 5.
