Movie Review - Judwaa 2

Attributes: Movie Reviews

Director: David Dhawan
Cast: Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.

Movies with the protagonist in double-roles have been in the Bollywood for a while now, but the concept is still rolling out and that shakes up your faith from the Indian Cinema especially after 'Newton'.

'Judwaa 2' is a reboot of David Dhawan's 1997 hit 'Judwaa'. As per Dhawan, the script for the movie is pretty much the same following the Action-Comedy genre but what makes one guffaw is the fact that it has not been given contemporary treatment. So much for originality, slow claps!

Prem & Raja (played by Varun Dhawan) are twins separated at birth due to the courtesy of Charles, a smuggler, as their father hands him over to the Police. The event leads to a split-up between the brothers.

Varun Dhawan tries to deliver his best to play both the roles, but when you seek too much attention in the name of acting, you end up getting just the opposite, Mr. Dhawan!  Jacquelin and Tapsee look clearly out of the place, however, the first half keeps you engaged with Varun's knee-jerk dances, over the top gags and gung-ho.

The director has tried to put emotion on the platter but it creates a mushy, cheesy quagmire that is best left untouched.

Watch Judwaa 2 for a brainless festive stress-buster (read stress-bolster, ahem!) this Dussehra but don't blame us if your brain bears the burns. Cheers!
