Namma Metro finally connects North & South Bangalore

Hear hear!
After months of waiting, Namma Metro's Phase 1 is finally fully functional as the last leg of Green Line, connecting South Bangalore to North is complete!
Connecting Sampige Road and Yelachenahalli, the 10.5 km long stretch will be inaugurated by the President of India: Pranab Mukherjee on 17th June, between 6 to 7 pm. on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's invitation.
And will be open to the public from the following day i.e. 18th June!

While the completion has been pushed for a little over six years now; one can simply embrace the fact - Better late, than never.
In fact, the BMRCL managing director Pradeep Singh Kharola also said "We have been preparing for the inauguration. Despite many hurdles, the Metro has reached a major milestone. This will take public transport in the city to a higher level."
Well, quite a dream come true, we would say.

The BMRCL website also states that, the last leg of the Green Line covers stations including Chickpete, Krishna Rajendra Market, National College, Lalbagh, South End Circle, Jayanagar, Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road, Banashankari, Jaya Prakash Nagar and Puttenahalli.
Also, the journey that connects Nagasandra in North Bangalore with Yelachanahalli in the South is expected to take just 45 minutes.

It's time to say goodbye to the ever-so-impending traffic, we would say.
