Get Healthy Breakfast at the First Ever Cycle Cafe of India!

Tucked away in a corner in sector 29 market of Gurgaon is the country’s first bicycle themed café chain, Ciclo Café. The café serves as a pit stop for all cyclists in the city. They can stop by, park their cycles outside and recharge before the next ride. So, it was important for Ciclo Café to have a good breakfast menu. When I walked into the café at around 9 in the morning, wafting smells of waffles, eggs and croissants greeted me.
Ciclo also sells bicycles and bicycle gears. After checking out their cycle store and admiring the décor, mostly made of cycle chains and other bicycle parts, I settled down with a breakfast menu. The menu is a mix of Indian and Continental. I went for the Sabudana Vada first and it was impressive—crispy, light and chewy. Their waffle with maple syrup and whipped cream was the right amount of sweet and did not make you feel heavy. But what really blew my mind was the French Toast Croissant, chef Mrinmoy Acharya’s innovation. The flaky, soft croissant has been split into half and French toasted. It was perfect in all sense. There was no overdose of egg or butter and the whipped cream became the ideal side dish.
There are also Masala idlis and Eggs Florentine, both of which were good but not that impressive. Try their protein shakes. The peanut butter, spinach one sounds weird but tastes amazing. The cold pressed juices are also refreshing and energizing. I also tried the baked cheesecake from their bakery section and the minimalism surprised me.
Ciclo’s food is not extravagant—but it surely is innovative and authentic, just like its theme!
