Here's your opportunity to do something different this weekend, seize it! This Sunday instead of staying in the bed till noon, try heading to the foggy hills nearby and turn your weekend around with a spellbinding view of the sky and its hues. 
 
Get ready to spend some time in the relaxing and majestic lap of nature. Ralamandal, a beautiful bird and wildlife sanctuary situated about 20 km from the city is the perfect spot if you are a trekking enthusiast or are the adventure kinds.  A trip to this magnificent place will transport you to a zone which is devoid of all the worldly distractions. It will be exactly what you need after a hectic week at work!
 
The Sanctuary is spread over a total area of 5 sq.km.  One can spot deers, Blue bull, leopard, rabbits and a rich diversity of birds in the sanctuary on a good day.  The park also boasts of a quintessential variety of flora and houses trees such as Teak, Saja, Chandan, Eucalyptus, Babool, Bamboo and other plants and herbs among the woods. You will surely appreciate the beauty of nature and the view will take your breath away.
 
The scenic beauty of the region adds a charm to the place. The sanctuary houses an ancient palace built by Holkers’ over a century ago and also offers an apposite accommodation in its rest house for those interested in staying here for more than a day. There is a small museum housing real fossils of dinosaur eggs. One can also explore the park in golf cart ride.
 
It’s preferable to carry your walking shoes, track pants or shorts and an extra pair of clothes. Also, avoid going in the late evening hours or make sure to carry a mosquito repellent.
 
So if you are looking for some adventure, some leisure, some quality time in a calm and beautiful environment, then this is the place that will do justice to your mind and soul. Hardly half an hour’s drive from the city, this is definitely a recommended excursion from Indore!
 
Winters (October to February) is said to be the best time to visit this place!
 
How to reach there: Situated on the NH 52, Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary is near to Patel college, Tejaji Nagar bypass. It is advisable to have your own vehicle, as public transport is not easily available in the area.
 
Visit timing – 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, open all days of the week
