Opened before a few months, Deck 88 is a new addition to the Astor Hotel at 15, Shakespeare Sarani. This open-air café and bistro is not only a new place to chill with your friends and family but also a perfect place to spend some peaceful time alone with nature.

After climbing a flight of stairs, you reach a little deck that has been transformed into a beautiful urban garden and the number 88 is the intersection of longitude and latitude of the place. This justifies the name Deck 88. The furniture, imported from South East Asia, has teakwood finishing that can be used for all seasons. The rustic flooring, rough metal frameworks along the railings and lighting blend the terrace into the Victorian architecture of the Astor Hotel.

The café is open from 12 noon till midnight, during the winter, and 4 pm to midnight, during the summer. The café gives an elegant yet homely environment which makes you feel at home. The seating arrangement is divided into three parts: the bar, the café style seating space and lounging and dinning space shaded by large umbrellas.

The menu, curated by Chef Samir Dan, is a mix of dishes from all over the world. From pasta to very basic desi laal chicken tikka, Deck 88 has a wide-range of varieties. One of their signature dishes, the Pulled mutton phulka taco is a fusion of Indian and Mexican cuisine.

The kathi rolls, sliders, and sandwiches are made to meet the taste of the younger crowd. The signature cocktails include Misty mango margarita, Lavender Margarita, Basil and thyme martini and the Watermelon martini. You can pair them with the Local thela wala ghoti groom. Whether you’re a tippler or an occasional drinker, you will definitely find something that will lift-up your spirit.
If you are a vegetarian don’t feel left out yet. The vada pav sliders and mushroom
moti tikki are two more fusion of Indian dishes.

The vada pav sliders are served with house salad, peri peri spiced potato wedges and jalapeno garlic mayo and can be paired with a sunrise smoothie, a rich blend of banana, vanilla ice-cream with demerara sugar and honey, or you can choose your own flavour smoothie.

So, head to Deck 88 soon for some comfort foods with a quirky twist.
