Bask in the Best of Music and Films this Weekend!

What’s a city without an underground music movement? It’s the hub of a totalitarian-Marxist-communist revolution, is what it is. Mumbai is far from anything that is either of those things and that entitles this city to host hues of the most varied recipes in music. A mix of funk and cyber-punk along with a dash of Indian classical music and you’re brewing instant positive vibes.

And if music doesn’t interest you then how about viewing a few completely authentic and largely Indian indie short films? Specifically, three ground-breaking short films that will leave you feeling alive and changed on the inside.

  1. Dyad by Indra Joshi
  2. French Date by Vaibhav Dixit
  3. Qalandar by Rohit Sharma

This weekend is going to see the fourth installment of House Concert Mumbai’s collective endeavour to spread the word about everything that’s trending in the low-down music circles of this metropolitan city.

For a quick preview of the artists who will be performing at the house concert, visit the following links:

Anand Bhaskar Collective – Heavy alternative rock with nuances of Indian classical music.

Vernon Noronha – Independent singer and song writer based in Mumbai.

Daira – A five-piece Mumbai-based band that believes in the amalgamation of art.

Just like the last time, this house concert will be a public initiative and will be funded by the attendees themselves. Any and all money donated by you will be used to pay for the lights, sound and, of course, the artists. As Afsha, head of the Mumbai chapter puts it, “House Concert Mumbai is for the people and by the people.” So come meld your hearts with fellow music lovers in Mumbai.

RSVP at to receive more details about the house concert. Entry is limited to the venue’s capacity of 40 people so if you’re having second thoughts then you probably missed your chance already!

Hop in for a night of music and films as original as your grandma’s rajma recipe.
