Cozy up with a Book & Breakfast at The Reading Social!

Attributes: Events

The monsoons are here, and we’re positive you can think of few better ways to spend the day than by cozying up with a book. But in a life where we’re constantly hard-pressed for a time while juggling between various commitments, it’s next to impossible to read for a significant amount of time, uninterrupted.

But, what if we told you there existed an event dedicated to making sure you do nothing for 2 straight hours, but read your favourite book in the lovely ambiance of a café? And even better, read over some delicious breakfast! For all the bookworms, The Reading Social happening on 9th July at Summer House Cafe, Todi Mill, Lower Parel is the perfect event to lose yourself in a great book and also meet new people who love reading.

The Reading Social is a series of organized breakfast meet-ups and a movement to promote the habit of reading. It is a wonderful space for people to take the time out to read by committing to 2 hours in a cafe with a book over breakfast. Each read-up is attended by around 50 people who get to meet each other and exchange ideas post the reading. It’s like a family that gets together once in awhile and gets to exchange their deepest thoughts without feeling judged.

Each ticket to the event includes entry and breakfast. For folks who want to commit to the habit, you can even buy a Commitment Pass, which gives you entry to any 5 read-ups for the cost of 4! And what’s even better, is that 100% of the proceeds from the event go towards providing books to children who need them most. This makes the joy of reading so much more sweeter, doesn’t it? Win-win!

So, what are you waiting for?

Grab a book this upcoming weekend, indulge in some delicious breakfast, devote some uninterrupted time to reading and meet some fun new people!
