This New Jazzy SoBo Place Serves Food on Pink Himalayan Rock

We always believe in eating healthy wholesome diet. But we often forget that we being Indians, we already have tons of goodness in our food and in our nature. And a new lavish space in Lower Parel offers you best of both the worlds.

Kaama – which means desire, is a newly opened sprawling restaurant in Kamala Mills, Lower Parel. It was launched on 10th of July 2017 with eminent guests from the city. 

As you enter the premises, you are welcomed by a luxuriously inviting space. Spacious and elegant, these are the two words which can epitomize Kaama. Old school gymkhana chairs, capacious sofa seating, chic high chairs on the extensive bar and outdoor seating/smoking arena. The décor will really amp up your mood. As you look upstairs, your attention is instantly grabbed by these dazzling moving bulbs which move up and down and look stunning. They also have a small corner which is an entertainment nook specially allotted for DJ & live music. 

Coming to the menu, the cuisine they offer is progressive Indian which blends between Indian flavors and International style. They have an extensive menu ranging from twisted Indian dishes to Indian staples like the famous Butter Chicken. They want to cater to both the spectrum of desi food lovers like the one who wants to try different variations and the one who wants simple Indian food.

They serve cocktails with organic syrups made of Honey & clove, brilliant hukka flavors, but what really caught our eye were the Himalayan rock platters. The Himalayan rock platter which is served on a 600 – million old brick made of salt is a brain child of Kaama’s executive chef, Rohit Lobo. The brick is 4.5kg in weight and its heated on slow flame to keep your food hot & with full of nutrients, thanks to the brick. Rohit recalls his cruise days where he first saw this brick method demoed by his head chef and he instantly loved the technique. The rock platter is served with kebabs, French fries or tandoori aloo, naan, dal makhani and veg pulav. We tried the chicken platter which was delicious and appetizing which aptly works as a wholesome meal for two. Chef Rohit, being experimentative in nature is trying different dishes in his Kaama kitchen every day and will come up with some innovative recipes soon.  

Next, we ordered their specialty dessert, the Gulab Jamun Cheesecake. Soft cream cheese with a hint of gulab jamun flavor really bring the two opposites together in a heavenly style. It was garnished with few gulab jamun chops to add yumminess to the overall dish.  Dinner date or party with your squad, this place will not disappoint you with its food offering and ambiance. 

So head to Kaama this weekend and be ready to get pleasantly surprised.
