Travel Mumbai to Goa in just 9 Hours in this Luxury Train!

The journey to Goa will now be quick, spectacular and luxurious, thanks to Indian Railway’s new initiative, Tejas Express. Goa is now much closer and you have the opportunity to mimic Shahrukh and say, ‘Goa is on!’ every weekend!

Tejas Express is nothing like the trains that you have seen before – it’s a high-speed air-conditioned train that gives you the in-flight experiences on wheels. Tejas is India's first train to run at an average speed of 130-kmph. Sit back, relax and enjoy the uber cool facilities like on-board infotainment, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee vending machine and hygienic washrooms. The train was flagged off on Monday, from the CST station and will begin its services from Wednesday, 24th May. It will take you from Mumbai to Goa in just nine hours, with total luxury.

Tejas Express boasts of some flight like services such as an attendant call button at each seat and berth-reading light. What more? Bio-vacuum toilets with hand dryers, water-level indicators and touch-less taps, too good to believe?

The food menu has everything delish, from croissants, French fries and doughnuts to lachha paratha and Malvani chicken curry. Although the catering cost is included in the ticket fee, you can choose to opt out of paying for food at the time of booking. While ordering on the train, you will need to pay an extra amount of INR 50 per meal plus pre-set catering charges.



The best part about the journey from Mumbai to Goa is the picturesque view of the Konkan shoreline. With the facilities of Tejas Express, you can add comfort to your journey. One of those times when the journey is more beautiful than the destination!

The Tejas Express will start from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and end its journey at Karmali, North Goa. The train will have 5 halts along its route - Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Ratnagiri and Kudal.


Tejas Express would operate 5-days a week during the non-monsoon period and 3-days a week during the monsoons.


Non-monsoon season (1 November–9 June): Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Departure Times: Mumbai: 5:00 am / Goa: 2.30 pm


Monsoon (10 June–31 October): Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Departure Times: Mumbai: 5:00 am / Goa: 7.30 am

Ticket Fare:

Executive Class: INR 2,940 (with food) and INR 2,540 (without food).

AC Chair Car: INR 1,850 (with food) and INR 1,220 (without food).

The ticket cost includes packaged drinking water and newspaper.
