When the weather goes gloomy, so does our choices for food. How many of us refrain from eating Street Food during the monsoon? However, a true foodie will never let the weather play spoil sport in his endeavour to gorge on the newest of street food in town! If you belong to either of the categories above, we have just the place for you! Ahmedabad’s beloved and popular Shree Karnavati and their legendary Dabeli is now in Pune! Rain or shine, Dabeli lovers you cannot miss this newest joint in Magarpatta City!

Everything at Shree Karnavati has that quintessential Gujarati touch. If you wish to try their food, you might have to go with a whole new palette for street food that was never before on offer in Pune. The first franchise outside of Ahmedabad, the food here is not spicy which perfectly caters to the Gujarati palette. Truly, a new addition and a breath of fresh air in the Street Food Circuit in Pune. The spices used are special and they come all the way from Ahmedabad. Most of the ingredients come from Ahmedabad (even the Cheese!) which lends the food here a unique, inimitable taste.

Their signature dish is the Kutchi Bowl. A whole new, refreshing take on the Dabeli! An innovation by Shree Karnavati, it comes with a bowl of fried bread, mixed with Dabeli Masala & Tamarind Chutney for that tanginess. Seasoned with Black Salt and garnished with Sev, it is a taste and a dish you may have never eaten before! Dabeli is not a usual affair here as they have several variants in Dabeli. We tried the Schezwan Dabeli which came laden with a slightly spicy Schezwan Sauce in between. The uniqueness of their Dabeli is that the bread comes roasted on a pan in a special mix of chatni.

Did you think Vada Pav was only the street food from Maharashtra? Apparently, Ahmedabad is equally crazy about Vada Pav and they serve Vada Pav with a take of their own. Shree Karnavati stands testimony to this as they truly serve the Vada Pav in the sense of an ‘Indian Burger.’ There are several variants available in Vada Pav here and we went with the American Vada Pav! Amusing right? It was a Vada with Mayonnaise and Salad sandwiched in between a Pav soaked in butter! Vada Pav innovation at its best!
