"Not just beautiful, though—the stars are like the trees in the forest, alive and breathing. And they're watching me." While reading through Haruki Murakami’s (Kafka on the Shore) novel, I couldn’t help but get lost in the magical time spent at Jameson Villa in Mahabaleshwar. Nestled in the lush green canopy where showers are ever falling, this place will surely cast its spell on you.
Come the monsoons, and everybody wishes to get out. Some of us who manage to take a long time off would go down South to Kerala. But for those who have the weekend at their disposal should not be upset because Jameson Villa will not disappoint you.
Constructed in bright red, green and white this is a heritage villa situated around 1.9 kms from Venna Lake in Mahabaleshwar. Jameson villa was built by the British around 150 years ago. Clearly, the colonial architecture is visible; the rooms are humongous in size and so are the beds. And the furniture has an antique look to it. There are in all 6 rooms at the villa with an outdoor seating where one can look past the mesmerizing view.
No matter what you say about it, words will fall short to express the beauty of this magical place. One must experience the feeling herself/himself to unfold the mystery of this Villa. This villa also offers barbecue and views of the garden, private parking, room service at the property and the help is generous enough to get your food from the main market.
